Connect
Making connections with each other, ourselves and the bigger story of the world around us is key for our wellbeing. We all know how important it is to have friends. But what other connections help you with your wellbeing and how can you make sure you keep connections strong? What about connecting with yourself? What’s that all about?
Give
When so many of the voices around us are encouraging us to get more, be more, own more, do more, it is interesting that one of the ways to enhance our wellbeing is to give. Even when our motives are questionable to begin with, giving can be really good for our wellbeing. So why is it hard to give? And why do we sometimes ‘over give’? How do we know when to give and what to give to?
Take Notice
You would think this is a bit of an obvious way to wellbeing. Taking notice — isn’t that something we are doing all the time? However, it is so easy to coast through life and not take careful notice of what is around us, what people are saying, what signs of beauty there are and even how we are feeling.
Keep Learning
Learning any new skill helps our brain function well. Learning is something that is going on all the time, even in difficult seasons. What are you learning about your wellbeing? What new things have you learnt lately? What difference is that making to you?
Be Active
Even though we know exercise and activity is good for us, it can be hard to keep motivated at times can't it? What activities help with your wellbeing? What does ‘being active’ mean to you? And what can stop us getting active?
Emotions
Studies have shown on average people are only able to name three emotions. However, there are many more. Being able to explore and talk about our emotions can have a positive effect on our wellbeing. It can help us to know and develop ourselves, build healthy relationships, and help us to share what we are feeling rather than bottle those feelings up. In this pack of cards we will use pictures to explore a diverse range of emotions, why we feel them and when.
